Combantrin (Pirantel Pamoat) Tablet

Combantrin is a drug used to eradicate worms (pinworms, hookworms, roundworms, whipworms) in the body. Combantrin contains the active ingredient Pirantel Pamoat which has an anthelmintic effect, which is a class of drugs that can kill or immobilize worms in the human intestine by depolarizing the neuromuscular inhibiting compounds of worms and removing them from the body without the need for laxatives.

Combantrin is an anthelmintic that works to treat:

1. Pinworms (Enterobius vermicularis)
2. Roundworm (Ascaris lumbricoides)
3. Hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale)
4. Hookworm (Necator americanus)
5. Worms Trichostrongyfus colubriformis and Trichostrongylus orientalls

Pyrantel Pamoat can be used for the treatment of infections caused by one or more types of worms in adults and children. This drug is well tolerated and will not stick to clothing by fecal contamination. If a family member suffers from infection from one of these five types of worms, it is highly likely that other family members also suffer from the same unidentified infection. Therefore, it is recommended that all family members consume Pirantel Pamoat (keeping the environment and clothing clean will prevent re-infection).

Dosage:

125 mg tablets

2-6 years old : 1-2 tablets for one drink

6 – 12 years old : 2-3 tablets for one drink

> 12 years old : 3-4 tablets for one drink

250 mg tablets

2-6 years old : ½ – 1 tablets for one drink

6-12 years old : 1 – 1 ½ tablet for one drink

> 12 years old : 1 ½ – 2 tablet for one drink
